COVID-19 - Update 20 April 2020
Greetings from Utrecht! As you can see, the Utrecht Summer School is still in business. All of the team members are working from home and can be reached via our support page.
We're still hoping to be able to offer several courses on location, in Utrecht, this summer. Also, a number of teachers are in the process of transforming their courses into online formats. Please, check out the course pages on our website to find out what the current status is.
Information on our COVID cancellation policy hasn't changed and can be found below.
Stay safe, best wishes from all of us,
the Utrecht Summer School Team
COVID-19 - Update 24 March 2020
COVID-19 cancellation policy
If you cannot come to Utrecht for reasons to do with the COVID-19 crisis, or if your course is cancelled, we will either:
1. Give you a full refund
2. Provide you with a voucher for the Utrecht Summer School 2021*
* This voucher is for the summer course which you originally applied for. However, if you wish to sign up for a different course during the summer of 2021, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.
Please, write to email@example.com if you wish to withdraw from the course due to COVID-19 regulations.
Currently the Utrecht Summer School team is, with its course leaders, looking into the possibility of offering a number of courses online or in a blended format. Once we have more information, this will be communicated via our website (in the course description). All applicants who have registered and paid for the course, will be more than welcome to participate in these courses, if they are not able to travel to Utrecht. It goes without saying that the housing fee will in that case be refunded.
The current COVID-19 situation
While we are busy preparing a successful and safe Summer School 2020, we would like to inform you of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the Utrecht Summer School.
As you might know, like other countries in Europe, The Netherlands is taking action to cope with the spread of the virus.
We still expect that our Summer School courses in July and August 2020 will be able to take place.
In the unfortunate event that we are not able to offer courses due to new, tightened national regulations, you will receive a full refund of your payment to Utrecht Summer School.
If this is the case, we will inform all applicants accordingly via email mid-May 2020.
Of course we will continue to monitor the situation and we genuinely hope we can offer you a great summer.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
COVID-19 Refund Policy
In the unfortunate event that we are not able to offer courses due to new tightened, national regulations, you will of course receive a full refund of your payment to Utrecht Summer School.
If this is the case, we will inform all applicants accordingly via email mid-May 2020. This refund includes both the Utrecht Summer School course fee as well as the housing fee (housing offered by the Utrecht Summer School).
Summer School courses outside Utrecht
In case you have applied or wish to apply for one of our tracks taking place outside Utrecht, different COVID-19 regulations might apply. We will closely monitor the situation regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. For students who, nearer the time, are not allowed to travel to the foreign destination, the Utrecht Summer School will arrange a substitute course, in line with the content of the track if possible. This adjustment to the track will be communicated to registered students mid-May 2020.
We currently have a substitute programme in place for the 'Italy based parts' of the following tracks:
